Visayan Folk Dancing

Philippines is a nation of great scenery, tradition and culture. Dancing is one of the passions of Filipinos. From worships, celebrations, festivities, thanks giving and good harvest. setting the difference from other nations.

Visayan folk dances, one of folk dances our nation embodies. Promoting the different traditions and practices the Visayan region have.

Dancers wearing their colorful costumes, dancing in different rhythm and tempos..accompanied by different instruments, orchestra to rondalla. dancing in different kinds of music from ethnic to Spanish type.

Dancing with grace, effort and energy...giving their own interpretation and justice.

Philippines is rich in different traditions, not just in Visayas but also in other parts of the country.

Watching this dances will give you the colorful tradition of Filipinos, giving pleasure, satisfaction and happiness. Which every Filipinos should be proud of.

Festival of all festivals






                     During the month of April the province of 
Negros Occidental is Celebrating its annual Festival.. The Panaad sa Negros, known as the "Festival of all Festivals".
   
   Negros Occidental located at the heart of Western Visayas, Philippines. One of the fast improving province in the country. Known for its production of sugar, rice and other goods.
       15,000 people witnessed the colorful, exciting and spectacular 23 festival dances in the opening ceremony. Everyone was in great awe witnessing full grown festivals in the province. Every single second counts and the intense hotness dominated the whole stadium.
 
              The Bailes de Luces of the Municipality of La Castellana emerged as this year’s Best Festival. Bailes de Luces or “dances of lights” is celebrated every December where dancers make use of colorful lights in their costumes.

Second Place was the Kalag-Kalag Festival of the Municipality of Isabela celebrated every All Souls Day. Kalag-Kalag Festival is unique since unlike most festivals which is celebrated in a pageantry of colorful costumes and festive mood, Kalag-Kalag features characters associated with Halloween.

The colorful Pintaflores Festival of San Carlos City bagged the third place. Pintaflores is celebrated every November 5 as the culmination of the Feast of St. Charles Borromeo, the city’s patron saint.

           Witnessing the Panaad sa Negros will not only give you extreme happines, great awe, but also be proud of the  the country's colorful traditions and attractions.

Bacolod's Masskara Festival




Bacolod’s most popular fiesta, is celebrated on the third weekend of October closest to October 19, the city’s charter day anniversary. 

Bacolod City is the capital city of  Negros Occidental. Located in the heart of the province. Awarded as one of the fast improving cities in the country. People will welcome you with warm hospitalization and smile.

Festivities kick off with food fairs, mask-making contests, brass band competitions, beauty and talent pageants, a windsurfing regatta, drinking and eating contests, trade fairs and exhibits. 

The climax is a mardi-gras parade where revellers don elaborate mask and costumes and dance to Latin rhythms Rio de Janiero style. 

Bacolod City is known as the the "City of Smiles". The Bacolod, as they are called, are proud of their culture as being strong willed with a warm heart. 

This festival is one of the famous, colorful and much awaited festival in the country.
